Minimalist Asymmetric Console Table For Lounge Area

Curved supports lean into the room while shelves of unequal length step across beneath a wide, level top. The Minimalist Asymmetric Console Table For Lounge Area plays with imbalance, yet each compartment is sized so the whole piece reads calm and steady. Off-center, but never accidental.

The Composition

Symmetry balances itself; asymmetry has to be worked out by hand and eye. Here, open sections in mixed proportions give books, vases, plants and woven baskets their own places, while the broad tabletop draws a clean horizontal line above the moving shapes below. The lower structure becomes the artwork, and the console still does its daily job.

Notes on the Make

• Built from blocks of wood joined together
• Curved supports paired with shelves of varying length
• Open compartments in several sizes for display and storage
• A light finish that leaves grain and tonal shifts in view
• Larger versions may arrive in sections that assemble after delivery

Where It Lives

Behind a sofa, it gives the seating a backdrop. It can also tidy a generous entry, hold a reading stack in a studio or bedroom, or quietly split an open floor plan into two zones.

Handcrafted to order from natural wood, each table shows its own markings, grain and coloring. Expect small differences from piece to piece; they are what make yours singular.
